I own and maintain my own Betacam SP and DVCAM camera packages. Although Beta SP is by far the most used format in the television industry, there are new recording formats that are taking hold - DVCAM is one of them.

I have been asked to shoot on practically every format including: Beta-SP, DVCAM, Digi-Beta, HD, DVCPro and Super 16. If your production is spec-ed out for a particular piece of gear that I don't have, I will do my best to get it for you and just charge you my day rate - including multi-camera productions.

The truth is, I know how a lot of video production. Although the camera is my first love, I have acquired knowledge and expertise in a couple of other areas including: pre-production planning, script-writing, Graphics Design, and Avid Editing.

My system consists of a G-4 Powerbook with Avid Xpress DV 3.5 software, a second monitor and a ton of external storage. I can do all my edits using high-end features like real-time effects, color correction and multiple video tracks.
In fact, the Avid Xpress DV software is becoming closer and closer to Media Composer. "I never feel like, 'Oh gee, I wish I had more capabilities.' Everything I need to do, I can do 100%. It's pretty surprising that you can get that on a laptop or a desktop."
And in addition, the whole system can be set-up on-location for corporate highlight videos and other fast-turnaround projects.
